FILM MUSIC
Cinema had made use of music since its beginning as another element at the service of action.
THE EVOLUTION OF FILM MUSIC
At the begging, when the films had not sound, there were allways a pianist or small orchestra like accompaniment. They performed classical music arranglements or popular melodies, depending of the film and the situation. And there were also an instrument called the "theatre organ" which imitated de sound of bells, rain, thunder, birds...
-1927: at that year began to appear movies with sond, using a record player synchronized with te proyector.
The JazzSinger
-1930: was a big expansión of sound movies and the film production companies started to wrote specific soundtracks for her movies.
The first great composer of this time was Max Steiner with te soundtrack:
Gone with the Wind
1940's- 1950's: Holliwood, that underwent his Golden age, improved the quality of its productionsand made technical advises in the sound recording and playback systems. One of the most important composers was Alfred Newman with:
Wutherig Heights
-1960's- 1970's: cinema took advanteges of new technologies and was influenced by the pop music. Jonh Barry was one of the best composer of this time and composed the soundtrack of the popular movie:

-1980's: music had a strong influence of two diferents tendencies:
- Tradicional symphonic music in the style of the great romantic composers,
Like Michael Nyman with The piano
- The modern electronic means and currents stiles,
